Today (July 7, 2017) Skype logged me out and require new version installation.
New Skype version require Mac OS upgrade to at least 10.9 and I am not upgrading my 10.8.5 to any newer version.
I am happy where I am with Mountain Lion Mac OS X.

I just went to file /Applications/Skype.app/Contents/Info.plist
and
View Codesudo pico /Applications/Skype.app/Contents/Info.plist


edited Skype version in a file changing the following:
View Code<key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
<string>6.0</string>

to
View Code<key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
<string>7.0</string>


View Code<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>6.15</string>

to
View Code<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>7.41</string>


View Code<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>6.15.0.335</string>

to
View Code<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>7.41.0.198</string>


as result old Skype version works and pretend to be a new one while I am happy to retain my Mac OS X.
