Sonoff Basic R2 V1.4 can be used as a 5V power supply for near-by ESP8266.
Actually, Sonoff can be powered VIA the same points from external power supply.

Here is ESP8266 Wemos D1 mini module powered by Sonoff

it appears to have enough power for both devices.There's no place like ~
